For those who read not only for mandatory reasons but also for satisfaction and amusement, we have great news for you! A freshman, Tuti Bakhtadze, decided to give the school members the opportunity to see reading as more than just a solitary activity. Book lovers always tend to look for others who share the same interests as them, and, thanks to Tuti, the book club will help them meet those people and hear their perspectives on various books and topics.
When Tuti decided to put some time apart for the club, she knew that she was agreeing to take on new responsibilities. According to her, starting a club is not as hard as it sounds, since everything has been going fairly smoothly for her. However, the club is just starting and Tuti is ready to face any challenges, such as “keeping the discussions organized and making sure we choose books that appeal to everyone,” as the club grows. As for the setting up process, firstly, she had to get the approval to establish the club. Then, she had to find a suitable time and a place for the club and, lastly, spread the word around the school to get more people interested.
The first meeting took place in the library after school, where the members introduced themselves and shared their views on how they wanted the club to run. They agreed to meet once every two weeks on Thursday at exactly 15:30.
Tuti plans on making the club a comfortable space for people to freely express their opinions and discover the books they normally would not reach for. Additionally, she wants to hold themed discussions, reading challenges and, if possible, invite guest speakers.
If you want to engage in an interactive conversation and use all the possibilities listed above, make sure to contact Tuti and join the Book Club!
